Alexandra Champalimaud teams with Charles Burnand
Known for a sleek aesthetic and spaces that encompass storytelling, New York based design studio Alexandra Champalimaud has teamed with London firm Charles Burnand for a capsule collection of three items. Debuting at The Salon Art + Design Show 2019 in New York (14th - 18th November) each piece has been inspired by North American Glaciers.
“their grounding presence and understated majesty give way to these new designs for a sofa, coffee table and pendant light.”
Each piece has been designed to exist as either independent articulations or together, for a synchronised statement . Each item is handcrafted in London.
The Tana Light
Tana is a pendant light fabricated from cast bronze material with illuminated alabaster orbs and brushed bronze detailing.
2.The Heron Sofa
The Heron Sofa is encased in a handcut black mica material and upholstered with a handwoven cream boucle fabric - from Tibor. Possibly my favourite item from the lineup.
3.The Lucana Coffee Table
With an emphasis on cubic shape, the Lacuna Coffee Table has an unmistakable solid presence. Made from cast bronze, silver plate and a Murano glass slab.
Founder and Creative Director of Charles Burnand, Simon Stewart, says
“this capsule collection has given us the opportunity to explore materiality and form, having Alexandra directly involved with the design process gives our collectors and clients a significant opportunity for unique design'‘.
