Visit Soleille Gallery, The Latest Cultural Hotspot In Ibiza
The sun-soaked Spanish island of Ibiza has an added element of allure this summer with the announcement of the newly opened Soleille Gallery, billed as a creative ‘hub’ for architecture, design, and art.
Situated in the beating heart of the beautiful Balearics, the contemporary space has been curated by the French Mexican architect and founder Gabriella Puig Soleille. Gabriella has appointed Martin Michaelis to be curator and to lead what they are describing as ‘an experimental curatorial approach’. Expect a blend of international representation; From Mexico to New York, South Africa to Europe, the gallery aims to be a melting pot for international artists and designers to display their pieces and explore the language that occurs as a result.
For the opening of the gallery the Soleille team has closely with artists and designers such as Sophie Dries, who has created a custom mirror using sand from Ibiza’s beaches, and Andrea Mancuso of Analogia Projects, whose marble pyramid speakers have set the tone with their “soundscape”.
Traces of the Mexican artist Ana Hernandez can also be seen. Look out for her gold and woven ‘memories’, which sit alongside the hand-hammered copper lighting sculptures crafted by Manuel Bano.
